GREETING:
Went to Italy. Lived some days. Wrote a poem.
The Poem
No Shade Unnoticed
Mountain tops, trees and leaves
Views turned memories as sand sifts beneath my feet
Glistening light beaming off soft ocean blue
The sun in my heart burns my face every time I think of you
Windows, terrazas, locals and tourists
Feather-weighted breaths match the echoes of the forest
Open doors to pictures I want to live inside forever
Each blink pulls the trigger of another moment shared together
I refuse to sentence this timeline with boundaries of manifestation
I choose to surrender to the truth and a peaceful’s life’s elation
Immobile rocks erode upon each collision with the tide
The memories I keep do not, however, once they form inside my mind
Between every laugh and smile that graces the perspective of my eyes
Nature’s there to complement as clouds pass across the sky
All the puffs of cigarettes; all the sips of iced white wine
The cups of fruit, the wrinkled towels and salty skin that feels sublime
This moment needs nothing from me
And I ask nothing more from it
I’m here today and I decree
That no shade shall go unnoticed
Sign-Off
Shoutout to my boy Scotty P. We called an Uber today. It was a one-way. To the Golden Gate. The air quality was hazardous. We kept the windows down the whole time.
CHEERS!
